Australian Institute of Management (AIM)
The most important purpose of this organisation is to promote the practice and education standards of the professionals of this field. AIM has been appointed by the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship in accordance with the Migration Regulation 1994 as the assessing authority for the relevant occupations.
The organisation provides wide range of services. The list of services and roles of the organisation has been stated below.
AIM roles and responsibilities:
· Providing an online bookstore for specialist in business and management;
· Offering the members of AIM the latest resources of their field of practice;
· Providing facilities for venue hire throughout the country; and
· Assessing the qualifications for migrants.

Skill Assessment Procedure for migration:
As stated earlier, the authority is responsible to assess the qualifications of overseas managers, who wish to practice in Australia under Skill Migration Programme. In addition the authority assesses qualification for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485).

Assessment of overseas qualification is a complex and time consuming procedure. It may take up to 4 weeks for the process to take place. After completion of the assessment a Letter of Assessment is received by the applicant. The received qualification is useful to assist:
· Migration officers to determine the suitability of the applicant for migration under the General Skilled Migration Categories; and
· Eligibility for relevant jobs.
