California Institute of Technology
California Insititute of Technology, also know as Caltech is a private research university, established in 1891. The Institute is located in Pasadena, California, United States.
Despite the samll size of the Institute, 31 of its students anf faculties won the Noble Prize, and 66 of them were the winners of National Medal of Science and Technology. 109 of the faculties are the members of the National Academy of Science. In addition, many faculty members are in association with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and NASA.
Rankings:
At the World University Rankings 2011 Caltech was placed 1st at the international level, by the Times Higher Education. The Industrial Institute of California was raked the best university in the world for both the Physical Science & Engineering and Technology majors.
In 2012 the U.S. News and World Report, ranked Caltech 5th best university in the nation, on the same scale as other universities such as: MIT, Stanford, The University of Chicago, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Campus:
The 124- acre, main campus of the institute is located 18 kilometer northeast of the downtown Los Angeles.
The main campus if located in Pasadena, California, which is on the northeast of donwtown Los Angles. There is a lilttle distance between the Old Town Pasadena and Pasadena Theate. So there is a high frequency of travel between these two sites by the students.
