QS ranked the University as 34th in the year 2011. UCLA was reported as 32th Best American University in 2010 by US News & World Report.

Campus:
When UCLA opened its new campus in 1929, it had only four buildings. Today, the campus includes 163 buildings across 419 hectares in the western part of Los Angles, north of Westwood shopping district and just south of Sunset Boulevard. In terms of acreage, UClA is among the smallest 10 campuses of the University of California.
