Architecture

Architecture in Australia can be categorised into two levels: Macro and Micro. As the names suggests, the design activties of the architect may vary from a Macro level, (Urban design, landscape architeture) to Micro Level (Constructure details and furnitures).  An Australian graduate in this field, would be titled as an Architect and not an Engineer.

Reflections of both classical and modern architecture can be easily observed and sensed on the streets of Australia. As a result, interior and environment desigs have become very popular in the recent years.

Interested applicant, is required to provide a Portfolio for his/her entry to a University. Portfolio is a term refering the practical work of the students. It is of a great importance as it represnets the students' creative minds. Students need to be very selective about their portfolios, since it illustrates their profeciency in the various skills of the trade and demonstrates that they know how to process information and think as an Architect.

Each school has different standards and measures to evaluate the students' works. Henceforth, Portfolios may be presented in a hardcopy or CD.
