Bachelor's Degree

Undergraduate courses usually take up to 3 years in Australia. In order to be awarded an “Honour” students are required to study one additional year. In some cases fourth year is based on dissertation.

Usually the fourth year of Undergraduate degree is equivalent to the first year of Masters.  This means students that have undertaken Honour degree, can complete their Masters in one year. Otherwise, duration of Master’s degree is 2 years. Students that have Technical & Further Education qualification may be eligible to enter for the first or second year of their undergraduates’ studies.

Undergraduate tuition fees are much lower compared to higher education qualification. At this stage, there is a very low chance of receiving a scholarship.  Since most of the undergraduate students are young, there are higher numbers of dormitories available for them.

Tuition fees

The tuition fees for undergraduate’s degree vary depending on the university and the major. For instance, majors such as Arts, Business and Economics, Law and etc may cost between AU$ 15,000-30,000 per year.

Majors like Engineering, Science, Medicine and Dentistry may cost AU$ 22,000- 55,000 a year.

The costs of living in Australia is approximately AU$ 18,000 a year, as a student. 

Generally the entry requirements of universities are same; however some may have relatively different criteria.  In addition some universities may have their own special requirements in regards to each discipline. More information about majors and programs can be found on the relevant page.  Iranian students that wish to enter Australian universities at undergraduate level are required to provide evidence of completion of their high school and pre-university courses. In addition, they must provide sufficient score of IELTS test. In the event that a student does not qualify for admission to undergraduate programs, he or she may be required to take pre-university courses in Australia before entering the university. These courses are offered by almost all high schools and colleges of Australia.

It is worth mentioning, pre-university courses of Group Eight universities are offered in the university's campus for those that wish to obtain admission to those universities.
