University of New England

University of New England (UNE) is a public university in Australia, located in the city of Armidale in northern central New South Wales. UNE was the first university to be located outside the capital city in Australia. The University has approximately 21000 enrolled students from 50 different countries that 700 of them are PhD students.  UNE spends around AU$ 5 million a year on scholarships and bursaries, and AU$18 million on researches. More than 75000 UNE are in senior positions in Australia and overseas.  UNE has managed to establish international reputation through their contributions in areas like: rural science, agricultural economics, educational administration, linguistics and archaeology.

University of New England has number of sites in Armidale. The northern campus is on the northwest of the city with 74 hectares in area. Armidale site now comprises some 260 hectares.

UNE offers over 200 programs in 23 discipline areas. As a result, the teaching and research of UNE is divided into ten multi-disciplinary schools.
