Western Sydney University, formerly known as University of Western Sydney was founded in 1989 in New South Wales, Australia. The University has 6 campuses throughout New South Wales. The total are of these campuses are 4050 hectares with more than 35,000 enrolled students.

The University has a high reputation for its research and development. University of Sydney has 11 research institutes and centres, researching on various matters like: Perinatal Dental Hygiene, Gender in Health, Housing Affordability and Income Protection Scheme.

The 2014 QS World University Rankings place UWS at 651 in the world and 28th in Australia.[2] In 2014 and 2015, the university was listed in the top 100 universities under-50 years old in the world, ranking 87th in 2014 and 56th in 2015
