Australian Catholic University (ACU) offers a number of scholarships and bursaries for its students. As a result a list of these grants has been stated for international students, enrolled in the ACU.

 

·         ACU Canberra Rural Placement Scholarship: a maximum amount of AU$1,500 are offered to applicants that study at the Canberra campus and have undertaken a rural or regional placement.  

 

·         ACU Law- Refugee and Humanitarian Bursary: a grant of AU$5,000 is awarded to refugees or any applicant that holds a humanitarian visa. They should be in the first year of their undergraduate course.

 

·     ACU National Student Association- Student Travel and Training Scholarship (STTS): an amount of AU$ 500 is awarded to  assist students with the associated costs of attending conferences, humanitarian activities, undertaking practicums or other further student training that supports the studies of  ACU students.  

 

·         Anne Lyons Memorial Travel Scholarship (Postgraduate): an amount of AU$6,000 worth of scholarship is awarded to one recipient each year, to assist the student to travel abroad to carry out research on the area of social justice.   As a result, the applicant is required to meet the eligibility criteria for the Scholarship. It is requested from the international applicant to provide evidence of enrollment in Postgraduate Coursework program in one of the ACU’s Australian campuses with the intention of returning to their home country at the completion of the six months study.

 

·         Archdiocese of Brisbane Theology Scholarship:  For the encouragement of postgraduate study in theology, the University offers a Scholarship of AU$2,500 worth in value for Postgraduate coursework students studying at the Brisbane campus. To be eligible the recipient is required to be enrolled in the School of Theology as well.

 

·         Australian Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund-Postgraduate Scholarships: each year the University offers the eligible candidates an amount of AU$5,000 worth in Scholarship. The award is designed to assist to high achieving honours or post graduate students to support them with their professional development and career. The Scholarship is open to anyone that meets the criteria for superannuation. As a result, applicants are needed to be enrolled in Faculty of Education and Arts, studying at the Canberra, North Sydney, Stratified or Brisbane Campuses. In addition, must be current member of Australian Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund, which has graduated with excellence academic record at undergraduate level from ACU.

 

·         Australian Catholic University International Travel Scholarship: The award is open to international undergraduate and postgraduate students with outstanding academic records. Hence, the Scholarship is equivalent to one-half of the full time fees of the course study for the recipient.  

 

·         Bob and Margaret Frater International Travel Scholarship: The award is appropriate for current or previous postgraduate students involved in teaching profession in a New South Wales or Australian Capital Territory Catholic primary school. The financial aid is AU$1,000 in value and available each year to those that display leadership qualities and commitment.

 

·    Catherine McAuley Scholarship:  each year two scholarships worth AU$2,500 are awarded to first year undergrad students studying at the Brisbane campus.

 

·      DOOLEYS Lidcome Catholic Club Postgraduate Bursary: students that have financial hardship to continue their studies can benefit from AU$5,000 financial grant to continue their studies. However, recipient is required to provide evidence of enrollment at the Stratified or North Sydney Campus as a postgraduate coursework student.

 

·         DOOLEYS Lidcome Catholic Club Undergraduate Bursaries: students that have financial hardship to continue their studies can benefit from AU$2,500 financial grant to continue their studies. However, recipient is required to provide evidence of enrollment at the Stratified or North Sydney Campus as an undergraduate student.

 

·       Emergency Nursing Advocacy Bursary:  first year undergrads students enrolled in a nursing or midwifery course may be eligible to apply for AU$2,500 bursary if are studying at the Melbourne campus of the University.

 

·        George Alexander Foundation Bursaries: these awards are AU$ 2.500 in value offered to eligible recipients for the purpose of assessing the expenses relating to the professional experience component of their courses. Eligible applicants are required to be studying at the Ballarat campus, undertaking and Education or Nursing course.

 

·       John F Slowey Memorial Scholarship: one Scholarship of AU$ 2,500 in value is awarded to eligible applicant, whose leadership and vision contributed to the survival and development of Catholic education in New South Wales. It is a merit based scholarship awarded to undergraduate students studying at in the School of Education at the Strathfield campus.

 

·         Mercy Scholarship: provides international students with an opportunity to cover the costs of the recipient’s course duration up to four years. The award aims to promote a culture of valuing human life and to support the eventual abolition of the death penalty internationally.

 

·   Peter W. Sheehan Scholarship: third year students of Bachelor of Psychological Science, can benefit from this Scholarship.  One Scholarship of AU$ 1,000 in value is awarded each year to the eligible applicant.

 

·    QIEC Super Scholarship: this merit based award is appropriate for one applicant studying at the Brisbane Campus, enrolled in the Faculty of Education and Arts.  The AU$2,000 worth Scholarship is awarded to the recipient having successfully completed at least one practicum placement and lives 100km from their placement.

 

·      Richard Charles Carroll Scholarship: this merit based Scholarship awards the recipient with an amount of AU$2,500 reward. This is suitable for undertaking students of Bachelor of Exercise and Health Science, studying at the Strathfield Campus.

 

·  Sister Assumption Neary Bursary: eligible applicants are required to demonstrate evidence of special need or disadvantage due to disability of non-English background. One bursary of AU$2,500 is awarded to one student enrolled in the first year of Bachelor of Nursing, studying at the Ballarat campus.  

·      Sister Cecily Dunne Scholarship: third year students of Bachelor of Nursing that are studying at the Ballarat campus may be eligible to apply for AU$2,500 Scholarship, having provided excellence community and academic records.

 

·   Sophia Scholarship: an amount of AU$5,000 worth of Scholarship will be awarded to eligible recipients involved in a project to benefit of the Common Good.
