There are a number of Scholarships available international students, studying a Higher Degree Research (HDR) or Honours Course at University of New England (UNE).
· Endeavor Scholarships and Fellowships: it is a merit based award founded by Australian Government to International Students undertaking studies, researches and professional development in Australia. This scholarship covers the costs of recipients travel and health insurances, monthly stipend of $3,000, establishment allowance of AU$2,000 –4,000 and travel allowances of AU$3,000-4,500. In addition eligible applicants receive tuition fees paid up to maximum study/research duration.
· International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS): international students enrolled in Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at this university can benefit from IPRS. This award is funded by Australian Government and covers the costs of recipient’s tuition fees to top international candidates.
· Nutritional Management in Free-Range Laying Hens: the Scholarship if AU$19,200 in value per year, awarded to international and domestic students enrolled in full-time on campus study at UNE. To be eligible, applicants are required to demonstrate the evidence of work or research experience in remote and rural locations and working closely with rural landowners. This is due to the fact that the award is available to PhD candidate to join the Poultry Research Group of University of New England. Hence, this specific research focuses on improving the performance of free-range laying hens through nutritional intervention.
· UNE PhD Completion Scholarships: this grant is normally available to PhD students entering their fourth year of degree. The purpose of this award is to support a specific outcome, meaning the submission of the PhD thesis. Hence, the students will be ineligible if they are currently receiving scholarships. The value of the award is AU$8,000.
· UNERA International Fee & Stipend Scholarships: international students enrolled in full time in a three year doctoral program at UNE may be eligible to apply for the Scholarship. The stipend is AU$ 25,849 in value per year for maximum duration of three years. Eligible recipient must be enrolled in a subject are identified by the University as within its designated five thematic research priorities.
