Below is a list of scholarships offered by La Trobe University.
Undergraduate and Postgraduate coursework scholarships
· Academic Excellence Scholarship (AES): covers the tuition fees for high achieving students enrolled at Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework programs. An amount of AU$12,000 is awarded to eligible recipients for maximum of two semesters. Applicants must also be citizens of Australia or New Zealand to be eligible to apply.
· Undergraduate and postgraduate regional campus scholarships: a maximum amount of AU$5,000 is awarded for international students studying at undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at one of the regional campuses of the University. Eligible recipients must demonstrate English Language and academic requirements for their course of studies.
· Undergraduate and Postgraduate Africa Scholarship: a maximum amount of AU$5,000 is awarded for l students of Sub-Sahara Africa studying at undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at one of the regional campuses of the University. Eligible recipients must demonstrate English Language and academic requirements for their course of studies.
· Undergraduate Civil engineering scholarships: outstanding international high school graduates may be eligible to apply for a scholarship worth of AU$20,000 in value for four years. In addition, it provides an opportunity for the recipient to work in Bendigo (a region that is facing a shortage of civil engineers)
Postgraduate research scholarships
· International Postgraduate Research Scheme (IPRS) and La Trobe University Fee Remission Research Scholarship (LTUFRRS): these are merit based scholarships open to international students that wish to continue their higher education at Master’s or PhD levels. These scholarships are funded by the Australian Government that covers the tuition fees of the applicants for the duration of their courses.
· La Trobe University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (LTUPRS): are open to international students that wish to study a higher degree by research at a Master’s or PhD levels. This is AU$ 24,653 worth in Scholarship.
· Postgraduate Research Scholarships for Mexican students: As the name suggests the scholarship is open to Mexican students undertaking their Master’s by research or PhD program at the University in science and technology social and humanistic areas.
· Postgraduate Research Scholarships for Peruvian students: As the name suggests the scholarship is open to Peruvian students undertaking their Master’s by research or PhD program at the University in science and technology social and humanistic areas.
· Victoria India Doctoral Scholarship
· Victoria International Research Scholarship: an amount of AU$90,000 is awarded to PhD candidates at Victorian universities.
External scholarships
· The Australian Awards scheme: it is a commonwealth-funded scheme offers international students opportunities to study in Australia.
· Australia Awards Endeavour Scholarships: these are internationally competitive scholarships based on academic excellence. Eligible recipients must be citizens of Asian Pacific, Asia, Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
· Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER): the council award AU$50,000 worth of scholarship to an eligible international student commencing undergraduate studies in business school or faculty of Australian University. The award is contributed towards tuition fees of the recipient.
