Queensland (QLD) is the second largest and third most populous State in Australia. The State was named in honour of Queen Victoria, and its Capital city is Brisbane.  It is located on the North-east of the country; it is bordered by the Northern Territory, South Australia and New South Wales to the west, south-west and south respectively. On the east of Queensland is Coral Sea and Pacific Ocean.   The state has a population of 4,750,500 focused along the coast and particularly in south east of the State. QLD is the world's sixth largest sub-national entity, with an area of 1,852,642 km2. Its capital is the largest city in the state is and Australia's third largest city. The distance between Queensland State and the Capital of country Canberra is uninhabited. The elevation of the state is Mount Bartle Frere with the highest point level of 1,622 m.

 

The State is a home of many landscapes and beautiful sceneries. Queensland is known for its sunny tropical coastal areas, lush rainforests, dry inland areas and temperate highland. Each year millions of visitors travel to the Sunshine State to enjoy the beautiful nature of Queensland. As a result the tourism industry generates AU$4.0 billion annually, marking it as the State’s leading tertiary industry. Some of the tourist destinations of the State are: Brisbane, Gold Coast, The Greater Barrier Reef, Hervey Bay, Fraser Island, Port Douglas and many more.  

 

There is a variation in climates across Queensland. Summers are hot and humid with low rainfalls for the inland and west, and monsoonal wet in the far north of the State. Along coastal strip the climate is usually warm and temperate during. Elevated areas of south-east midland usually have below freezing temperature in mid-winter. As a result of warm ocean waters, the coastal strips are usually moisture for rainfall and free from extremes of temperatures. Generally this state does not face extreme cold weathers, and cities such as Brisbane and Rockhampton have warm and humid summers and mid dry winters.
